crewel embroidery

I hit the jackpot again at the second-hand store! This time around I found a crewel embroidery kit from the 1960s complete with wool, needle and frame for just $1.50!

This is what I've done so far, just picking it up here and there throughout the day.
I think that, rather than framing it, I will turn it into a pillow cover for a certain little someone.

a birthday shawl.

On the needles: a simple lace shawl for my momma. I chose a variegated merino blend that moves from a deep rich purple to lilac, sage, white, and back again.
I'm super excited to see how it unfold!
